The NHL Hockey Day event brings hockey excitement to Tampere 17-18 March
The NHL Hockey Day lands in Sorsapuisto, Tampere, from 17-18 March. Aimed at hockey fans of all ages, the two-day event features e.g., Finnish hockey legends, live performances, and a Stanley Cup award. The event culminates on Saturday with a viewing party for the NHL regular season game between the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche. Admission to the Hockey Day is free.
The event area will be open from 10 am to 11 pm both days. Friday’s activities include public ice skating, competitions, and numerous activity stations. The Finnish singer Pihlaja will perform in the evening.
On Saturday, the day kicks off with a junior tournament. The day features ice skating, competitions, ice hockey themed activities and circus performances. The Stanley Cup and Selke Trophy will also be on display, as well as the most important prizes in Finnish ice hockey.
The Pond Hockey match will start at 2.30 pm, featuring Finnish Stanley Cup winners and local ice hockey legends. The event culminates on Saturday with a viewing party for the NHL regular season game between the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche.
Hockey Day is organised by the NHL, the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, Viaplay Group, and local societies.
