The programme offers the pounding of drums, badge and pennant workshops, hockey music and guided tours of Hockey Hall of Fame Finland in Finnish, English and Swedish.     Good cheer and drum beats! Make and perform hockey songs and cheers at a workshop organised by Kulttuuriosuuskunta UULU. Cheer you team to victory!

    Dj Juissi pumps up the crowd with hockey classics from World Championship tournaments through the years.

    Two exhibitions will be on display at the Art Museum.

    Wäinö Aaltonen – The Joy f Creating  February 4 – May 21

    The extensive retrospective exhibition presenting Wäinö Aaltonen’s art from the 1910s to the 1960s is based on his monumental works created in Tampere and Turku. The statues on Hämeensilta Bridge and the statue of the runner Paavo Nurmi in Turku are among Wäinö Aaltonen’s most notable public works. Over time they have become symbols and emblems of the spirit of these cities and indeed of Finland more generally.

    The exhibition will comprise over 100 works: sculptures, medals, paintings, drawings and book illustrations. In addition, the exhibition will be accompanied by Nuutti Koskinen’s media work Pirkkalaisveistoksista.

    Pioneer of Queer Art – Del Lagrace Volcano February 4 – May 21

    Bodies of Resistance, an exhibition devoted to the works of the internationally renowned pioneer of queer art Del LaGrace Volcano (b. 1957), consists of a diverse gallery of photographs of persons, bodies, genders and sexualities that reject society’s heteronormative classifications.

    The exhibition is composed of photographs taken by Volcano over different decades during their career. It offers a diverse presentation of their portraits, self-portraits and their documentary photographic background as well as various projects from the late 1970s right up to the 2020s.

  • The Tissot Crack the code competition, where the racing crowd can enter
    to test their hockey and clock knowledge in a multi-phase code competition.

    Ice hockey can be seen and heard in the streetscape of the Kulta-Center store at Hämeenkatu 27.

    For the second time, we are organizing the Tissot Crack the code competition, where the race crowd can enter to test their hockey and clock knowledge in a multi-phase code competition. Competition are held weekly and during the week tips are published to help the contestants possible to find out the code with which the competition safe opens and the prize can be claimed.

    In the code competition, it is possible to win tickets to the World Cup and Tissot Supersport 2023 IIHF A limited edition WM Special Edition watch. In addition to the code contest, in store can participate in a raffle, where it is also possible to win a limited edition Tissot Supersport-clock.

  • Welcome to the Home of Hockey party at the Frenckell Square in Tampere 10 May. The event features Reino Nordin and Costi. The event is free of charge.

    The Home of Hockey party will take place on Wednesday 10 May 2023 at Frenckell square.

    The City of Tampere organizes The Home of Hockey party at Frenckell square on Wednesday 10 May 2023 from 6-7 pm as a kickoff for the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship. The event will feature live music including Reino Nordin and Costi.The event is hosted by Pauliina Puurila and Mikko Töyssy.

    Finland’s ice hockey team will also go on stage to greet the crowd. The city welcomes everyone to celebrate the homecoming of ice hockey.

  • Welcome to enjoy the hockey atmosphere in the Home of Hockey zone in Keskustori Central Square.

    The Home of Hockey zone, free of admission and open to everyone, offers programs and activities every day throughout the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship from 12 – 28 May.

    In the area, you can watch the ice hockey World Cup matches played in Tampere for free and take part in a variety of hockey related activities and games.

    The event area is located right in the heart of the city, in the area between Keskustori Central Square and Frenckell square.

    The area is open every day, including on Ascension Day:

  • Tampere Old Church is hosting “Old Church & Old School Hockey” -events during World Championships (12.5-28.5.).

    Come and enjoy ice hockey from big screen in this “hockey sanctuary”.

    Our guest are some of the most legendary Finnish Ice hockey figures – Veli-Pekka Ketola, Juhani Tamminen and Rauno Korpi for example.

    We also have live-music, Jussi Syren & The Groundbreakers is coming Fridat 12.5. to play bluegrass -music before the FIN-USA game starting at 15:20.

  • Bar Hönö – Where the hockey, rock and live music meets

    Hönö Bar  is Live music venue, based in Tampere. In HÖNÖ Rock meets Ice Hockey! You can watch Ice Hockey from big screen and when there is a game, there is Happy Hours, and after the game there is afterparty with live bands.

  • Home of Hockey party in Särkänniemi 27 May at 5 pm.

    Ice Hockey World Championship spirit in Särkänniemi! Klamydia, Matti & Teppo, Portion Boys, and Oku Luukkainen get on stage. The event is only accessible with the event ticket which includes rides. The event is only for adults 18+.

  • In Plevna, you can see all the Finland’s games during the Ice Hockey World Championship games, and in the Mallaskabinetti all the World Championship games. You can watch the game in Mallaskabinetti, great auditorium-like room! Of course, beer is also available in the cabinet to achieve the right atmosphere. The Mallaskabinetti can hold max. 25 people.

    Koskipanimo has also produced the beer specifically for use by hockey people. Hoki Lager 5.5% is available at Panimoravintola Plevna, Oluthuone and to buy in a bottle from Koskipanimo’s factory store during the Ice Hockey World Championship games!

  • It’s a home race AGAIN!

    You don’t have to this year either spend all your money in kalja, maggara och hattara but you can also get a race tattoo – you get them from us during the race WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT (and the tattoos don’t have to be hockey-themed).

    However on Thursday 18th of May we are also drinking beer and the shop is closed.
