Art Workshops in Haihara

17.6.2026 - 5.8.2026

00.00 - 00.00

Haiharan kartano, 33710 Tampere

At Haihara art workshops, you can try out different art mediums in a relaxed manner.

Welcome to Haihara to enjoy summer days with art! In the workshops we make art together, in a relaxed way. We get to know different techniques from natural materials to watercolors, plaster and cyanotype – by experimenting, observing and learning together.

There is no need to register for the workshops and they are free to attend. People of all ages are welcome to participate, small children accompanied by an adult. No previous experience is required for any workshop, the most important thing is to experience new things, learn and play with materials. All materials can be found on site. Feel free to come along and try something new!

Please note that the workshops have limited capacity. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early.

The art workshops are held in front of the Pakari in the manor park, or inside in case of rain. The workshops are conducted in Finnish.

Accessibility: The workshops are held in the park area on a flat lawn. The Pakari, where the workshops are held in case of rain, is accessible to disabled people, and can only be accessed via stairs. There is an accessible toilet in the manor. The manor is accessible via a ramp.

17.6. Drawing from a model

Come and learn how to paint from a model! We will learn by observing the local nature and buildings. You can also bring your own model, for example a small object.

24.6. Watercolors from natural materials

We will learn how to use different natural materials in watercolor painting. Raw materials used include coffee, tea and spices.

1.7. Haihara community painting

Welcome to participate in a community art painting! Each participant will receive a piece of a photograph as a model, and the paintings will eventually be combined into a large finished work. Depending on the number of participants, each person can paint 1-2 pieces and the artwork can be continued at other times until the work is complete.

8.7. Guided making of a willow gate. Guided by Rene from Blokgarden.

Come and learn how a traditional willow gate is built in the Haihara herb garden!

15.7. Cyanotype

In cyanotype, monochrome photographs are created without a camera – the end result is a beautiful Prussian blue print. In the workshop, materials are collected from the surrounding nature, placed on cyanotype paper and allowed to develop. If you wish, you can bring material to be exposed with you, such as small objects or lace. The final exposure time depends on the amount of sunlight.

22.7. Plaster sculpture

Small figures are sculpted from plaster. We will carve small figures out of plaster. You can take your figure home or leave it in the Haihara area for a collaborative art piece!

29.7. Summer collages

Reminisce about the nicest memories of the past summer and create a collage based on them as a memento of this summer. You can cut material from a magazine, cardboard or draw any pictures you want for the collage.

5.8. Collaborative Haihara Painting

This session continues the collaborative artwork begun on July 1. Each participant receives a section of a large photograph to use as a reference, and the individual paintings will ultimately be combined into one large, finished piece. Depending on the number of participants, each person can paint one or two sections. Participants may also choose to draw the Haihara area.
