Artist Katja Muttilainen has created two interactive augmented reality (AR) Christmas greetings near Laikunlava, which can be viewed through your own mobile device.
The first piece forms a moving frame through which you can pose with a friend to say a Christmas greeting to relatives. The second piece is an interactive Christmas forest that you can walk through. In the three-dimensional work, movement and sounds are heard when you touch the creatures and other objects of the Christmas landscape visible on the screen of the mobile device. The works are also suitable for adults' first experience of augmented reality.
Muttilainen will be there to guide on Sat 30.11.24 from 11 am to 2 pm. The works can also be experienced independently on 30.11. from until Epiphany 6.1.25, there will be a signpost. The works work best in daylight. Welcome!
NOTE! Unfortunately, the Christmas forest only works on limited devices; iPhone X and newer, Samsung Galaxy S21/22 series and Google Pixel 6/7 phones. Even newer devices will probably work, but they have not been tested. So be prepared when you visit here.
The works have been created with an artist grant awarded by the city of Tampere. With these works, Muttilainen tests the interactivity of AR art outdoors in an urban space.
