Community art workshops

Community Art Project at Lielahti Manor

– come share ideas and help create art for the manor’s community spaces!

This community art project, carried out across five workshops, invites participants to collaboratively design an artwork for the public spaces of the manor. The process starts with group-based brainstorming, where participants’ ideas guide the direction of the project. During the first sessions, the group will do visual and movement-based exercises to support cooperation and idea generation. Based on these ideas, the group will then create more detailed plans and produce a final artwork for the space.

In a group-driven community art project, the final artistic outcome may take many forms—for example, a painting or sculpture installed in the space, or a gradually evolving participatory piece created together with visitors. In a space-oriented project, the group might also design artistic functional objects that suit the needs of the space, or visitor-friendly instructions that encourage people to engage with it. The outcome of a creative, collaborative process is always a surprise!

The community art project and workshops are led by visual artist Inka Hannula.

The workshops are free of charge.

LIELAHTI MANOR

Lielahti Manor is developing into a community-oriented cultural center where the public and artists meet in participatory and innovative ways. The manor offers workspaces for artists and creative professionals, an inspiration library, and the atmospheric Café Kartano. In 2026, new community rooms for all city residents will open. The manor also rents project, meeting, and event spaces.
