Under The Palm Tree

In the concert program, guitarists Jonne Grans and Santeri Rautiainen will perform music that has fulfilled the classical guitar's position as perhaps the most colorful instrument of our time. The program is taken from the duo repertoire of Julian Bream and John Williams, the greatest guitar legends of the second half of the 20th century. It can be stated that their collaboration in the 1970s created the status of the classical guitar in our culture: the recordings Together (1972) and Together Again (1974) literally brought guitar music to people's record shelves. The iconic numbers on the albums consist mainly of Spanish music. The concert will provide the audience with a rare opportunity to experience a thorough selection of the emergence of the classical guitar and Spanish music. One can speak of a kind of golden age of guitar music; a turning point where the expressive potential of the guitar has been raised to a completely unique level.
