Haverintie 2, 39310 Ylöjärvi

Welcome to explore the Haveri mining area, which is significant in terms of industrial history, with a guide!

A guided tour introduces visitors to the unique mining environment of Haver. The tour takes visitors through the history of the mine and the mining village. The mine began operations as an iron mine and the first documented mentions of the Haver mine can be found in the 18th century. The last mining operation was carried out by Oy Vuoksenniska Ab in the years 1935–1960, when the main product was gold, and in addition copper and silver. A significant part of the buildings associated with the mining operation have been preserved and the original shape of the mining village is still clearly visible.

Guided tours in July on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am and 1 pm. In addition, tours on Wednesdays 16.7. and 23.7. at 2 pm. The tour lasts about an hour and is suitable for all ages. During the tour, you will travel about a kilometer along gravel roads and visit museum buildings. Departure from the Haveri parking lot (at the intersection of Haverintie and Rantapolu).

A diverse collection of rock samples and other artifacts is on display. The tour also stops by the cliff-edge open shaft of the gold mine.

Free admission, welcome!
