Kohtaamisia.aamiaiset yrittäjille: networking event for entrepreneurs

Maija Mansikka and Abdourakhmane Keita share their story of how two different cultural backgrounds can be combined to build a successful joint restaurant business.

They talk about how the idea of starting their own restaurant in Finland came about and what kinds of insights, surprises, and challenges they have encountered on their entrepreneurial journey.

We hear about how cultural differences have affected their collaboration and the formation of their company's identity. Maija and Abdourakhmane describe how multiculturalism is reflected in the everyday life of the restaurant—in the kitchen, in service, and in customer encounters—and how it has enriched both the company's operations and their shared journey as entrepreneurs.

Tampere for All

Tampere is a proudly multicultural city. Currently, around 10% of Tampere residents, or 26,000 people, have roots abroad. Diversity is Tampere's strength and a great opportunity.

As part of the city's equality and non-discrimination work, we participate in the national Anti-Racism Week, which will next be held on March 16–22, 2026. The city and its partners in Tampere will organize a wide range of themed events during this week. You can read about the campaign on the city's website. 

Kohtaamisia.aamiaiset are networking events for micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses in the Tampere region. They are held on the last Thursday of the month. Come and discuss current topics and network over breakfast with other entrepreneurs.
