Children’s Discovery Journey in Raudanmaa is an experiential event week where each day invites children and adults to explore a new theme – animals, nature, traditions and doing things together.
Throughout the week, children are encouraged to play, explore, try things out and wonder at their own pace. The programme draws inspiration from cultural heritage, things worth preserving, and the Nature Year 2026 theme – all approached in a relaxed, playful and hands-on way.
The Pikkupiha Children’s Farm and the rural surroundings of Raudanmaa provide an authentic and safe environment to spend time together, meet animals and enjoy summer days in the countryside.

🐐 Tuesday – Discovering Animals and Rural Life
Get to know the animals of Pikkupiha and explore what life in the countryside was like in the past and today.
Animal care moments, stories, play and shared time with animals.
🌿 Wednesday – Nature Treasure Hunt
In the spirit of Nature Year, we head into the farmyard and nearby nature to explore, search and wonder.
Nature treasures, small tasks and games where nature takes centre stage.
🏫 Thursday – School Days of the Past
What was a school day like long ago?
Traditional playground games, school memories and small activities that let children experience the atmosphere of earlier times.
🍞 Friday – Traditional Treats and Hands-on Activities
A moment to slow down and enjoy traditional flavours and making things by hand.
Simple traditional activities, shared doing and experiencing – without hurry.
🐕 Saturday – Children’s Own Match Show
A fantastic final day!
The week culminates in a joyful Match Show for children, where they can participate with their own dog or a toy dog.
The event is relaxed, encouraging and full of joy – celebrating courage, performance and shared experiences.
