Maida Vale is an acoustic band from Tampere, whose music defies precise definitions. The band's songs are characterized by catchy choruses, swing and musical richness. The lyrics emphasize life-like stories.
Maida Vale started as a trio; vocals, guitar and cello. The line-up has undergone many changes, and now includes six musicians. In addition to the more traditional instruments, saxophone and harmonica are also heard.
The band has released four EPs, the first of which was in English. The band has played over a hundred gigs, from rock clubs to festivals, from small pubs to private events. The band is at its most joyful during gigs; from joy to sadness, from sensitization to lively rallies.
