Christmas Gift Concert

Peaceful Christmas music performed by the cantor quartet and organist

Welcome to the Cathedral on Christmas Eve to fall silent and welcome Christmas.

The evening's program includes J.S. Bach's Christmas organ and choral chorales, nativity-themed Christmas carols, Orthodox Christmas music, and festive English Christmas carols with organ accompaniment. The world's most famous Christmas carol, Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, will be heard as a duet with guitar accompaniment.

The concert will feature beloved Christmas carols. 

The cantor quartet will feature the cantors of the Cathedral Parish

Pirjo Mäntyvaara, soprano and Katja Mäkiö, alto

as well as composer Janne Salmenkangas, bass, and the cantor of the Tampere Orthodox Parish, Markus Hänninen, tenor.

Riikka Viljakainen will play the main and side organs of the Cathedral

Admission to the concert is free and you will receive the program manual as a Christmas gift from us.

The concert will last about an hour.
