Planting event in Varsanpuisto

The planting event will be held on April 23, 2026 from 5–7 p.m. at Varsanpuisto in Takahuhti.
Welcome to learn about the implementation of Varsanpuisto's nature-based solutions and participate in sowing seeds! We will be sowing seeds in flood meadows and ditch banks as direct sowing. The seeds have been collected by hand from the surrounding area. You will get to learn about the local plant species that thrive in wetlands and how to use their seeds, as well as increase biodiversity in Tampere with your own hands.
The event will be held on 23 April 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Varsanpuisto in Takahuhti. You can participate according to your own schedule. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own rubber boots. Gloves and tools will be provided by the event organizers.
The event is organized by the City of Tampere and the Wild Zone Association. The event is part of the City Blues project of the City of Tampere, which has been granted funding from the EU's Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme.
