Maida Vale is an acoustic band from Tampere. The band's music defies precise definitions. However, Maida Vale's songs are characterized by catchy choruses, swing and musical richness. In their lyrics, the band favors life-like stories.
Maida Vale started as a trio; vocals, guitar and cello. The line-up has undergone many changes and now includes six musicians. In addition to the more traditional instruments, the band also includes saxophone and harmonica.
The band has released four EPs, the first of which was in English. Around Midsummer, the band released a new song called Apina and more are planned throughout the autumn.
The band has played over a hundred gigs, from rock clubs to festivals, from small pubs to private events. The band is at its happiest during gigs; from joy to sadness, from sentimental songs to lively rallies.
