Tango–Guitar–Flamenco Week: Family Day

The program of the event includes workshops and concerts for the whole family! Free access (exceptions marked with *)

10-12 Flamenco in the body and rhythm. A multi-sensory workshop for the whole family aimed at 7-99 year olds, where you get to know flamenco's fascinating and characteristic 12-part rhythm, compás. Flamenco dance teacher Milla-Maija Saari is the main leader of the workshop, and the musicians performing soleá are guided by guitarists Toni Jokiniitty and Pekka Siiskonen and kantele musician Eva Alkula. Those who want to can participate as palmeros together in the day concert held at 1 pm in soleá performed by guitar and kantele students. This workshop is full.

Free face painting and glittering.

From 12 to 14 Flamenco rose from recycled jeans*, Eirene Chaos (*participation fee).

At 12:15 a.m. Argentine tango dance introduction lesson. Come and experience the joy of Argentinian tango! Advance registration is not required.

1 pm Concert: A music session for the whole family, where the participants of the Flamenco body and rhythm workshop will perform.

The guitar orchestra, consisting of students from music schools in Pirkanmaa, performs Ilkka Hammo's arrangements. The orchestra also includes kantele, flute, violin, viola and double bass.

The classical guitar masterclass students of Aniello Desiderio (ITA) & Zoran Dukić (CRO) present their program before the lesson.

At 3 pm, flamenco enthusiasts from all over Finland will perform at the Flamenco week's Avoimet lauteet concert.

The event is part of the Tango–Guitar–Flamenco Week program. Tampere Tango Festival, Tampere Guitar Festival and Tampere Flamenco Week together form the Tango—Guitar—Flamenco Week, which will be held from 11 to 20 September 2026.
