Join us to discuss everyday racism and intercultural encounters. Sofia Pieti will open up the topic through experiences and examples. At the same time, you will get to know the Cultural Compass network.

The second Cultural Compass network meeting of the spring will be held on Thursday, March 19th. at 2:00 PM Community Space at Kulttuurikompassi in Klingendahl as part of the City of Tampere's Anti-Racism Week.

Language teacher, wellness group leader and artist Sofia Pieti will present the phenomena of racism and intercultural communication in a way that touches and opens eyes. She will examine the topic from three of her roles: as a Finnish language teacher, an employment services officer and an immigrant. Sofia's presentation will makes everyday and structural racism, microaggressions and the white norm visible – but at the same time offers concrete tools for how to meet people of foreign background respectfully and equally.


The talk is suitable for anyone who wants to better understand multicultural encounters and strengthen inclusive practices. Sofia's talk is practical, thought-provoking and builds a safe space. The presentation languages are English and Finnish. Welcome to join the discussion!
