Known together as the A to Z Guitar Duo, the two artists bring together strongly individual musical temperaments: Desiderio’s Neapolitan fire and brilliance, and Dukić’s clarity and stylistic range.
When Aniello Desiderio and Zoran Dukić share the stage, the guitar becomes both a virtuoso instrument and a living chamber-music voice. Known together as the A to Z Guitar Duo, the two artists bring together strongly individual musical temperaments: Desiderio’s Neapolitan fire and brilliance, and Dukić’s clarity, stylistic range and architectural sense of form.
Their collaboration reaches back to the early 1990s and has grown into one of the most compelling duo partnerships in the classical guitar world. In concert, they do not simply double the sound of two soloists; they create a true dialogue, full of rhythmic precision, colour, spontaneity and dramatic energy.
Aniello Desiderio
Italian guitarist Aniello Desiderio emerged as a child prodigy in Naples and has long been known by the nickname il Fenomeno. A graduate with honours from the Conservatory of Music in Alessandria, he has won 18 first prizes and international awards, including major successes at the Havana, Tárrega and Guerrero competitions. His playing is admired for its dazzling technique, intensity and singing lyrical line.
Zoran Dukić
Croatian guitarist Zoran Dukić is one of the most distinguished classical guitarists of his generation. Educated in Zagreb and Cologne, he built an exceptional competition career in the 1990s and remains the only guitarist to have won both Andrés Segovia competitions. He was also the first non-Spaniard to receive the special prize for the best interpretation of Spanish music at the major Madrid competition – a telling sign of his deep connection with the guitar’s core repertoire.
Please also note: Saturday, September 19 – Classical guitar masterclass with Zoran Dukić & Aniello Desiderio. Participants will perform their repertoire as part of a concert starting at 1:00 PM in Pyynikkisali Hall. The actual instruction will take place in a separate room after the concert. The course is free of charge. Participants will be selected based on applications and announced in early September. Please register via the link.
The event is part of the Tango–Guitar–Flamenco Week program. Tampere Tango Festival, Tampere Guitar Festival and Tampere Flamenco Week together form the Tango—Guitar—Flamenco Week, which will be held from 11 to 20 September 2026.
