In summer 2022, opera singer Pia Freund witnessed a unique tidal phenomenon in Brittany. The sea retreats at the pull of the moon, stays still for 60 minutes and then flows back. It is a specific length of time that humans cannot control.
Where does a person go when life imposes limits? What factors influence our decision? Or does the moment of non-movement make the choice for us? In this performance, the audience is led on a dramatised musical journey along the seabed towards the dead moment when the ocean seems to stand still for 60 minutes — which is also the duration of the performance.
