A concert of music that has become a viral phenomenon. The evening will feature works that have left a lasting mark on the world of classical music as well as pop and rock music. An energetic and surprising concert package is promised, where the biggest hits of all time meet.
The ILME Quartet is an energetic and innovative string quartet founded in 2021, with roots in Tampere. The group began at Tampere University of Applied Sciences and has continued its activities after the players graduated as music professionals. Since autumn 2024, the quartet's violinists have also taken turns playing viola.
ILME has performed extensively: for example, on the Löytöjä tour supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, which focused on the music of female composers, as well as at the Rauma Festivo 2024 and the Laura Netzel Festival 2023. The quartet also likes to bring artistic experiences to smaller towns and diverse audiences.
The chamber music studies have taken the ensemble to many master classes and festivals, such as the Oslo Quartet Series seminars, Kuhmo Chamber Music and France to study with Quatuor Debussy. In addition to concerts, ILME performs at various events with lighter repertoire. The group's goal is to continue their master's studies abroad, develop chamber music teaching in Finland, and spread the good news of quartet playing as widely as possible.
Music that has touched millions - come and experience ILMIÖT live.
The concert is produced in collaboration with the City of Nokia Cultural Services and the Nokia Music Life Support Association.
Performers:
Maria Turunen, violin
Essi Rintala, violin
Ida Hoefft, viola
Eero Vahtola, cello
