The brass bands of the Pirkanmaa Music Institute will perform at the Kaleva Church in Tampere! Two bands composed of young brass players will perform. Free admission!

The brass ensembles of the Pirkanmaa Music Institute will perform in Tampere's Kaleva Church on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature two ensembles of young brass players: a group of younger players and a large brass ensemble with more advanced studies, accompanied by brass teachers from the Pirkanmaa Music Institute.

The evening's program will present different periods and sound possibilities of brass music. The polyphonic sound of the Renaissance can be heard in Giovanni Gabriel's Canzo Septimi Toni No. 1, while romantic expression is conveyed in the Largo section of Antonín Dvořák's 9th Symphony. The program also includes Highland Cathedral, César Franck's Panis Angelicus and Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.

The concert will also feature a horn ensemble.

The brass ensembles will be led by conductor Anna-Leena Lumme and Anu Pihl.

Admission to the concert is free.
