Program:
Metsänpeitossa story concert by Uulu at 12:00
This concert is in Finnish. The concert follows a story where two cousins are spending their summer holiday at a summer cabin, but end up having an adventure of a lifetime when they go to the forest to pick berries for their grandmother's blueberry pie.
The concert draws inspiration from folk lore and nature conservation. During the concert you can learn about creatures from Finnish folk lore and how different traditional instruments sound. The audience can participate. About 45 minutes long.
Ant trail
On this independent activity trail you can dive into the fascinating world of ants. Ants are masters of collaboration and everyone has an important job in the colony. Come find out what interesting things happen in the anthill!
Bumblebee spot
At this informative spot you can learn how to differentiate the most common bumblebees and learn about citizen science and bumblebee counting. You can also learn about the apps iNaturalist and Seek, which you can use to identify species near you. iNaturalist Finland is a part of the international iNaturalist network. It forwards the sightings to the Finnish species information center, after which they can be used by scientists, officials and enthusiasts. All you need to do is look around!
Obstacle course for a flock of geese
On this playful obstacle course you will need true teamwork. Will your flock fly through the course with ease, or will you work through difficulties together? Come outside to test your balance and coordination on this course together.
Sounds of the forest - workshop
One of the rooms inside holds a cozy forest - what kind of sounds would one hear here? What kinds of sounds do different forest animals make?
In this workshop we create the forest soundscape together. The workshop is roughly 15 minutes and begins at 11:30, 13:30, 14:00 and 14:30.
