30 plays from Tampere in 60 minutes

Tukkateatteri’s new production, 30 Plays About Tampere in 60 Minutes, offers a fast-paced, warm-hearted, and surprising glimpse into the everyday life and culture of the city. Premiering on 10 July 2026, the production introduces to Tampere a performance format inspired by neofuturist theatre for the very first time. The work consists of 30 short plays exploring life in Tampere from a variety of perspectives. Topics range from the city’s tram system, market square culture, local grill food, events, and history to the reasons why people move to Tampere and choose to stay. Running through the performance is the idea of “Tampere-ness” – the unique spirit of the city, shaped by its people, communities, memories, and experiences. The actors have exactly 60 minutes to perform 30 plays in an order chosen by the audience. Roles change rapidly as performers jump from one story and character to another in a matter of seconds. The show ends when all 30 plays have been performed— or when the time runs out, even if a scene is still in progress.
