A taste journey to rural

A start to spend an exciting day in Hämeenkyrö! The trip takes participants to explore the rural municipality of Hämeenkyrö, located northwest of Tampere. During the day, we will enjoy the flavors of the countryside in wonderful summery rural landscapes. Our journey takes us through farms and direct sales shops, where it is possible to buy locally produced products to take home.

On the bus trips, we will be accompanied by our guide Katariina, who will share stories and atmospheres about Hämeenkyrö.

Departure at 9 am from the old church in Tampere

9.30 am Pinsiö nursery 

We will start the trip with morning coffee at the rural café Viljan Vint. The magnificent exhibition park in the yard of the Pinsiö nursery presents garden gems and gives tips for those who love flowers, trees and plants.

11.15 Frantsila Farm 

Frantsila Farm offers a succulent vegetarian lunch from the banquet table. In the magnificent gardens, a guide will introduce you to the healing power and well-being effects of Finnish wild plants. The farm shop (Frantsila products) and an art exhibition are open in the main house. You can explore the historical environment and its buildings, among other activities.

13.30 Mannanmäki Observation Tower 

During the war, the tower served as an air surveillance point for the airfields. The renovated tower offers its visitors a piece of history and stunning views in all directions.

14.15 Heinäsuo farm shop

The organic farm located in the rolling countryside of Osara allows visitors to get to know its operations and everyday life. In addition to the young host family, the farm with a long history is home to 54 suckler cows, 1 bull and calf, heifers and steers.

15.40 Yrjölä berry farm

In the afternoon, we will be able to enjoy the delicious flavors of the Yrjölä berry farm in the form of afternoon coffee and ice cream. The culinary experience is crowned by the scenery in the middle of the most beautiful national landscape and a short overview of the farm's operations. In the shop you can buy farm produce or other local products to take home.
