Europe Day will be celebrated 10 May at the Central Square
Europe Day and the 30th anniversary of Finland’s EU membership will be celebrated at the Central square on Saturday, 10 May starting at 12 noon. The programme features, for example, an interview with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Henna Virkkunen, greetings from the Mayor Kalervo Kummola.
Europe Day and the 30th anniversary of Finland’s EU membership will be celebrated at the Central square on Saturday, 10 May starting at 12 noon. The programme – hosted by Matti Rönkä – includes an interview with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Henna Virkkunen, greetings from the Mayor Kalervo Kummola, a panel discussion featuring Finnish MEPs and moderated by Matti Mörttinen, EU news in Tampere dialect, Anne-Mari Kivimäki Ensemble and children’s programme.
In the afternoon, cake and coffee will be served at the Central square. The day ends with a sing-along with Marita Taavitsainen. The event is organised by the European Commission's Representation in Finland and the European Parliament's Liaison Office in cooperation with the City of Tampere.
