Plan Tampere will host a panel discussion on October 8, from 18:30 to 19:30, in the Väinö Linna -auditorium at the University of Tampere Linna Library about girls and women in crisis. Free entry.

The rights of girls are under threat around the world as a result of various crises and conflicts. Girls and women face particular challenges in these areas, such as gender-based violence and human trafficking.

11 October 2024 is the International Day of the Girl. This year's theme focuses on girls facing crises and conflicts. On Girls' Day, we recognize the immense potential of girls, advocate for improvements in their status, and raise awareness of the unique challenges they encounter in conflict situations.

Plan Tampere will host a panel discussion on this theme on October 8, from 18:30 to 19:30, in the Väinö Linna -auditorium at the University of Tampere Linna Library. The discussion panel will be attended by girls and women from different backgrounds addressing the theme from their unique perspectives. The panel will explore key issues such as the impact of crises and conflicts on daily life, education, status, and the support available to girls and women in these situations. How does a crisis or conflict alter the life of a girl? How do these changes compare to the challenges faced by boys and men? What kind of assistance is needed during crises, and what kind of support is actually received? What insights do these experiences provide about themselves and the world?

We invite you to join this highly relevant panel discussion and take part in the celebration of International Day of the Girl!
