“Under the Clouds”, meeting the German author Achim Bogdahn

German author and radio host Achim Bogdahn reads from his book “Under the Clouds: My Journey to the Highest Mountains of All German States.”

Bavaria has the Zugspitze, Hessen the Wasserkuppe, but what is Hamburg´s highest mountain? The Hasselbrack in the Harburg Hills, 116.2 meters high. And what is the highest peak in Bremen? 32.5 meters – the elevation in Friedehorst Park.

Achim Bogdahn set out on a journey through Germany and climbed the highest mountains of all 16 federal states. To avoid hiking alone, he invited well-known people from each region to accompany him. From these hikes, a book was born – a book about Germany, encounters and conversations, people and life – with many detours, anecdotes, and digressions.
