Balboa ja sen Veli

April event is special: it combines live music and dances. Come, pick a drink at the bar, and check out the good mood during this jazz evening! There is no entry fee, and we encourage donations to the band as thank you for their performance (suggested 10-20€).

Starting at 19h with a short guidance to warm up for the night and welcome new enthusiasts, a short taster class takes place. After that, 67xNaked band will play swing jazz, fitting for Balboa and its sibling dances! When live music is not playing, our DJs will play some classics. Come and join us! It is also ok to come by the pub to enjoy the music and good vibes, have a drink and then decide if the mood is for dancing. Balboa is a partner dance, but no partner is required, as rotation of partners happens during the taster class. During the evening, it is customary in Swing dances to dance one song, and then switch partners. Of course you are more than welcome to bring friends or partners along!

To make sure the night goes smoothly, we kindly request to pay attention to our guidelines (or, as we call, our cool dancer's checklist :) ):

• Please be kind to everybody.
• Wear shoes all the time - slippery shoes are an advantage here!
• And last, but not least, the event is free of charge, so please take a drink as a thank you to the bar for hosting us and allowing this event to happen.

Participants are not insured and, as any dance sport, injuries may happen. In case of doubt, please check with your physician beforehand. Pictures and videos may be taken during the event and may end up in social media. It is difficult to enforce in public spaces, but if you feel uncomfortable with that, inform at the beginning of the events, so that others are aware of it.

About the band: 67xNaked, founded in 2017, is a fierce, original and performative jazz ensemble, touring actively across Finland, the Baltics, the UK and Ireland. Known for their surprise-filled, improvisation-driven shows, the group blends the raw energy, playfulness, and boldness of early jazz and blues with joy, creativity, and a deep commitment to the freedom of performance.

Their repertoire spans 1920s–40s jazz, original compositions, spoken word, performance art, and dance. Jazz acts as the foundation for a strongly and improvised experience; always unique, always alive in the moment.
