Nature trip to the flood meadows of Varsanpuisto

On the tour, you will tour the flood meadows of Varsanpuisto with guides and hear about the design and construction of the site.
Large flood meadows and a vortex pond have been built in Varsanpuisto to prevent flooding caused by heavy rains and meltwater and to improve water quality. At the same time, numerous other benefits have been achieved. Seeds and seedlings of local plants have been planted in the flood meadows together with the city residents and the Wild Zone Association.
Come and tour the site with guides and hear about the design and construction of the site. During the tour, you can also see spawning grounds built for trout and measuring devices for monitoring stormwater. The tour takes about an hour. The walk is just under 2 km.
A video of Varsanpuisto will be filmed during the tour. You can join the video if you wish, but you are warmly welcome to join the tour, even if you do not want to be in the pictures.
The tour will be guided by project manager Anna Vilhula and stormwater expert Salla Leppänen from the City of Tampere.
