Invitation: Kickoff to Summer Vacation - movement, joy and summer atmosphere on 6 June, 2026!
The City of Tampere's sports and youth services invite families, children, and young people to join the most energetic start of the summer – the Kickoff to Summer Vacation event on Saturday, 6 June 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm!
The day starts at the traffic park from 10 am to 11:45 am, where you can brush up on your traffic behaviour skills in a safe environment after the winter break. Come on a kick bike, bicycle, scooter or pedal car – and enjoy the official opening of the traffic park with the whole family! There will be fun activities for the whole family, including face painting, a stick horse track, music, soap bubbles and a treasure hunt. The program will be finalised closer to the date.
At 12 noon, the event will move to the Tampere Outdoor Swimming pool, where the summer atmosphere will continue until 3 pm. There will be a nice time together by the water, various experiments and physical experiences.
The theme of the event is:"Be aware of your own swimming skills"
Throughout the event, you will receive non-stop guidance and tips on swimming skills - from toddlers to seniors, as well as ideas for diving into the diving pool. The Tampere swimming clubs Uita, Tatu, Molskis (diving club) and the water dance school Kalypso (mermaid swimming) will be participating.
During the day, you will get to talk to sports motivators and the Youth sports coordinator - they will be there to inspire, support and share ideas for a sporty summer, and our Family exercise instructors will also be entertaining the little ones on the lawn.
Dj Juissi is responsible for the good atmosphere throughout the event.
Come and spend a happy and active day in honour of the summer holidays!
The event is free for children! Children aged 4–16 can enter the event for free, accompanied by a parent.
See you in Kaleva! 🌞🚲💦
