Kortetcello brings an evening to Pispala Library where poetry and melody breathe the same air. The Tampere duo interprets Eino Leino's compositions, originally made famous by Vesa-Matti Loiri, with their own delicate and strong arrangements.
Vocals, guitar and cello build an intimate, warm-hearted ensemble, where the longing, power and timelessness of Leino's poems take on a new sound. The duo has an extensive cover repertoire from pop to British rock, but Pispala focuses on Leino's texts -- those that have passed through Finnish memory from generation to generation.
This is an evening where words do not remain on paper but are placed aloud and vibrate in the silence of the library.
