Harlequin-style pocket books printed on paper may be a disappearing world, at least these examples from around the 1980s and the turn of the millennium, which are the material for the exhibition.

My desk has been swarmed with strong featured men. Many are angular multi-billionaires or sheikhs, whose dark velvety voice takes you underfoot. The sparkle of emeralds may cover the sparkle of diamonds, but not magical nights. From time to time, a luxury limousine pulls up softly or a heart-rending pain looms over everything.
Few are those who have had no contact with Harlequin books. The same world and the principles of narrative also continue to live on in mainstream fiction and television series.
Along the way, in addition to chocolate stains and electric shock-like touches, the books have also found surprising elements and ragged poetics. In places, concrete pits may have appeared amidst the glamour, or a whole lotta love has boiled over.
Minna Soraluoma has studied at the Lahti Art Institute and the University of Lapland. Her subjects are often the shadowy corners that are not paid attention to and materials that have their own life and past. So in Love is Soraluoma's first solo exhibition in Tampere in almost 20 years.
Open Tue – Sat 10am-6pm. Free admission.
