Love Harvest art festival
Love Harvest art festival 2.–3.8.2025
Love Harvest is a small, loving art festival celebrating the well-being of the land, plants and bodies at Frantsila Organic Herb Farm and Hiukkanen village hall.
At Frantsila Organic Herb Farm & Hiukkanen village hall in Hämeenkyrö 2-3 August, 2025
Love Harvest is a small, loving art festival founded in 2024 celebrating the well-being of the land, plants and bodies. The flower fields, gardens and greenhouses of Frantsila Organic Herb Farm as well as the Hiukkanen village hall in Kyröspohja will become stages for art and plant knowledge on the first weekend in August.
The festival will bring together artists, village communities and people interested in biodiversity and plant healing. Local, Finnish and international artists working in visual arts, music, dance and performing arts have been invited to present their works at Love Harvest.
This year, Love Harvest has started an artist residency at Frantsila. The first artist in residence is Astri Laitinen, a visual artist based in Helsinki and Lohja, whose work is deeply rooted in her garden. The festival will exhibit Laitinen's works created from materials gathered from Frantsila's gardens and environment.
The artists invited to the festival open up different perspectives on the relationships between bodies, land and plants; the forces of nature, care, destruction, emotions, the different layers of reality; connecting, remembering and forgetting. The two-day festival includes performances, exhibitions and concerts. Sunday’s programme focuses on workshops on embodied practices and plant knowledge, as well as a possibility to bathe in Frantsila’s herb sauna.
The festival programme is curated by Anna Karhu-Cormier, Satu Herrala and Maija Mustonen. Love Harvest is produced by Johanna Hurme. The festival is made possible with the support of numerous volunteers, assistants and the Frantsila team.
The 2025 Love Harvest artists come from different generations and practices. They are Mirja Airas, Jessie Bullivant, Marjatta Hanhijoki, Jean-Michel Kampara & Anna Linneus, Astri Laitinen, Elia Lombardini, Pääsky Miettinen, Yoshi Omori, Iiris Raipala, Vincent Roumagnac, Miša Skalskis, Anna Torkkel & working group.
The event is supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and Hämeenkyrö municipality.
