On All Saints’ Day the Pirkanpojat Boys Choir, the youth choir Sympaatti and the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra with soloists will perform Mozart’s Requiem conducted by Jouni Rissanen.
On All Saints’ Day, 1 November 2025, the boys’ choir Pirkanpojat and the youth choir Sympaatti will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem at Tampere Cathedral. They will be joined by the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra, with soloists Maija Rautasuo (soprano), Ruut Mattila (alto), Martti Anttila (tenor), and Nicholas Söderlund (bass). The concert will be conducted by Jouni Rissanen. Choir coaching has been led by Emmi Kleemola of Sympaatti, alongside Rissanen.
Mozart’s Requiem remained unfinished at the time of the composer’s death in December 1791. Due to its origin and text, the mass for the dead carries a solemn tone, yet it radiates comfort and hope.
