The opening of Festival of Light will also be celebrated in Evening Market on Friday 25 October from 4 to 8 pm

Analemma is a light work by Nadja Räikkä (Sun Effects), which can be admired for eleven days in the Hallituskatu side windows of Tampere Market Hall.

The piece is inspired by the cycle of the year and the movements of the Sun in the sky.

An analemma is a curve that describes the position of the Sun in the Earth's sky on different days at the same time, viewed from the same point.

The analemma of the earth forms a figure of eight, which resembles the graphic symbol of infinity. The cycle of the year is equally continuous, eternal, subordinate and eternal.

In the art piece, the phenomenon is described with graphic elements behind the windows. The entire wall of windows facing Hallituskatu transforms and lives, creating the impression of circulation. The work is viewed from the outside looking in on the sidewalk of Hallituskatu, opposite to Market Hall.

Analemma also beautifully symbolizes the cycle of life within the walls of Market Hall from one season to the next.

💫 The arrival of the Festival of Light and Analemma will also be celebrated in Evening Market on Friday October 25th from 16:00 to 20:00.

Market Hall will fade into a space of light and shadow, and of course there will be seasonal treats, drinks, music and the cycle of life dancing in the windows of Hallituskatu.

Welcome to celebrate with us!
