What happens where the tamed meets the untamed? Where does order yield to nature own, unpredictable power? The paintings of Tampere-based artist and teacher Miia Salmi move on the interface between reality and imagination and explore the mystical, profound connection between humans and nature. The inspiration for the works comes from the diversity of nature and human life, and how these two worlds are inextricably intertwined. For the exhibition at the Tahmela Villa, I have chosen my most intense, wildest and most colorful paintings. The paintings in the exhibition are powerful images of inner landscapes, where we give ourselves permission to just be - wild and liberated. The exhibition is an invitation to step on the borderline, trust the power of intuition and face what longs for us to return to nature.
