Pispala Workers’ May Day Celebration is a traditional, free, and open-air event for everyone!

The Pispala Workers’ May Day Celebration will be held on May 1, 2026, at Pyykkimettänpuisto on the Pispala Ridge. This long-standing, free, and open-to-all outdoor celebration marks May Day in the spirit of Pispala’s working-class tradition—coming together to eat, sing, and celebrate as a community.

The program includes the laying of flowers at the park statue, speeches, communal singing, and live music. The café offers traditional May Day treats such as sima and doughnuts, and heartier food options like hot dogs are also available.

The celebration is designed for all ages, from babies to grandparents. Children have their own dedicated program.

Proceeds from café sales are used to help cover the event’s expenses.
