Summer opening in Hiedanranta

Hiedanranta is celebrating the beginning of summer with a versatile program. The summer opening will feature the opening of summer restaurants and the Hiedanrannan Paja’s summer shop - The Katutaso shop. At the Tehdas Second Hand event, you can get in the mood for the beginning of the summer season with fashion and design. DJ Sara-Maaria creates a festive atmosphere with music.

Restaurant Väst is celebrating its opening on Saturday, 24 May. Scandinavian-inspired restaurant Väst, with a modern take on classic Nordic dishes is a family-friendly restaurant that draws from Scandinavian cuisine and champions clean, honest flavors. The relaxed dining room serves both lunch and dinner, while the bar is perfect for dropping in for a drink, beer, or a small bite.

The Tehtaan Terassi restaurant operators include the seafood and vegetarian food truck Katukeittiö Leidi, vegan restaurant Muona, Mexican restaurant Ramona, as well as Ravintola Palkki that offers juicy chicken wings and hamburgers. You can order food and drinks from any of the four vendors and enjoy them on the shared dining terrace. The restaurants are fully licenced, and the beverage selections include coffees, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages, as well as beers, ciders and wines.

Hempee x Minetti -ice cream kiosk, witch was hugely popular last summer, will be serving customers in Hiedanranta at the Jukolanaukio throughout summer 2025. The selection of the Hempee x Minetti summer kiosk includes e.g. Hempee cookie ice cream sandwich, Minetti ice creams and variety of coffee drinks. In addition, you can borrow picnic blankets and board games from the kiosk, as well as other summer games, such as mölkky. 

Hiedanranta's Paja Katutaso store will open its doors and serve during the summer from 24 May to 17 August from Wednesday to Sunday. The summer store's selection includes design products, crafts and art from artists and craftsmen working in the Paja building. A treasure trove of second-hand finds, Banger Second Hand, opens its doors on the ground floor of Hiedanrannan Paja in May 2025. The boutique serves customers for the summer season, offering a carefully curated selection of clothing, accessories and shoes for adults and children alike. Come bring color to Tehdasaukio square and paint art with street chalk! Street chalk festivals offer people of all ages the opportunity to unleash their creativity. Come decorate the area with amazing works of art. Street chalk is available at Tehdasaukio square.
